For me, the true joy of watching movies unfolds within the cozy confines of my home, offering an experience that surpasses the allure of theaters. The ability to rewind, pause, and restart at my whim adds an extra layer of enjoyment, catering to my ever-changing moods. Over the Republic Day long weekend, I watched the movie 12th Fail on OTT platform.

"12th Fail" is a captivating biographical drama directed by the talented Vidhu Vinod Chopra and features Vikrant Massey in the lead role. The film narrates the inspiring journey of Manoj Kumar Sharma, who, despite facing failure in his 12th-grade exams, goes on to become a successful IPS officer. The narrative delves into his struggles with academic setbacks, societal pressure, and financial hardships. Throughout the challenges, Manoj's unwavering determination to achieve his dreams is fueled by the constant support of his grandmother.

This movie stands out as an exceptionally inspirational and heartwarming tale of triumph over adversity and the pursuit of one's dreams. Those who have encountered setbacks in their lives are bound to resonate deeply with the film.  Vikrant Massey and the supporting cast deliver remarkable performances that breathe life into the characters. Their portrayal of struggles and triumphs is nothing short of amazing. Kudos to the director for choosing realistic settings, capturing the essence of both rural India and Delhi's Mukherjee Nagar—a locality renowned for its educational institutions and coaching centers, particularly for competitive exams like Civil Services (IAS/UPSC).

The stellar performances in "12th Fail" triggered reminiscences of another impactful film, "Raincoat," where Aishwarya Rai and Ajay Devgan left an indelible mark with their powerful acting. 

Hoping my kids who watched the movie, get inspired by the struggles and learn something from the never-say-die attitude and determination of the Manoj Kumar Sharma.
