Dheko barish ho rahi hai ... it's raining, its raining

"The low-pressure system formed on the coast of North Andhra and South Odisha in the Bay of Bengal has intensified"

This is what the official Met Department statement says. For a layman like me who looks up to the sky to figure out the weather, I see the rain pouring 23 hours out of the last 24 hours. It has rained continuously for the last 7 days and in the last two days, Life is almost at a standstill. Kids school moved online this week and today they declared a holiday anticipating disruptions to the networks.

When it comes to traffic, Hyderabad, IT and the financial district are no different from the Bengaluru outer ring road. long traffic jams, hours on the road is common, especially during rains.

I have never regretted moving to fully remote working. It gives me more silence (being away from traffic), some additional ME time, and the ability to switch off from work the moment I shut down my laptop. On days like this, while sipping my morning tea, I actually can't help, but feel for some of my colleagues who are stuck in the traffic.

Bollywood makes some memorable Rainy Day songs, my earliest memory was Raj Kapoor and Nargis in the song Shri 420, what an elegant onscreen couple they were. Remember watching this movie on Doordarshan.

Then there was this goofy couple of Kishore Kumar and Madhubala in the movie Chalti ka Naam Gadi.

Sensual Sridevi in Mr. India - every kid in my generation would remember this song, She made Saree hot again. Not many people know that the singer of this song were Kishore Kumar and Alisha Chinai. Yes, Kishore Kumar, this movie was released on May 25th, 1987 almost 30 years after Chalti Ka Naam Gadi. After 40+ years with amazing variation and melody, Kishore Kumar passed away on 12th October 1987. Put this movie on for the kids, surprised that they actually liked it.

Then there was Anu Malik and his hilarious Hindi-English take

This is a good playlist for any day to lighten your mood.
